Why: To celebrate and support student independent filmmaking in Monterey Bay

Event Information:
Students from local high schools (Pacific Grove High, Carmel High, Monterey High and York School) collaborated to produce their first feature film with HARA Motion Pictures at the Carmel Youth Center. The entire experience included acting for the camera, screenplay writing, serving as a crew on set, and assistant editing during post-production. Each student created a unique character and collaborated to weave their stories together to create, “Instructions Not Included.” This film explores high school journeys of self-acceptance and discovering the affect they have on the relationships around them.”There are no blueprints or instructions for life,” the students said, “you gotta learn for yourself.” During their winter holiday break, the film was shot for 13 days on location in Carmel, Pacific Grove, Monterey, Salinas, and Big Sur. This world premiere event will include a Q&A with the students and teachers following the 50-minute film. Come be a part of the debut event of the next generation of filmmakers!
