The young independent film artist community of Monterey Bay, HARA Motion Picture Conservatory, in association with Left Coast Productions and Access Monterey Peninsula, are hosting preview screenings of 6 short narrative films. The films are produced by HARA Motion Pictures with cinematography and production resources by Left Coast Entertainment. Since the beginning of the year, professional artists have mentored local high school students in HARA training classes for acting and directing, writing and producing, and all behind-the-scenes crew positions through hands-on experience making original films. Each of the 5-minute short films focus on dramatic plots with a surprise twist; as many shorts must have to compete in film festivals. The students are excited for the opportunity to share their work with the community this August in preparation for their screenings in October at the Carmel Art & Film Festival. The evening will be the first screening of the first cut of their films. Audience feedback is encouraged for students to continue their artistic process.
